There is some evidence that eating dried cherries will reduce jet lag.

Although, cherries might reduce fatigue, flying will not.

The purpose of Head in the Clouds is to reduce tension,

improve health and flesibility during flight travel or work time.

I have devised some exercises in the book to leave the

traveler in the groove for a vacation mode or

to enjoy work more. Enjoy your trip.

You don't have to be a yogi, monk, or religious person to stretch and be flexible and healthy. Everyone has heard that by sitting for long periods of time your circulation is affected and could bring on dire consequences for your health - such as blood clots in your extended parts of your body.

In our sedentary culture it is essential for us to keep our weight down and to stretch in order to reduce the stress of living. Medical people believe that stress lowers the immune system and brings on disease.

The purpose of this book is to reduce tension during the trying times of flight travel, or work time, while sitting at your desk.

As a life time practitioner of yoga, tai-chi and chi-kong I have devised some stretching exercises that will leave you more relaxed and able to enjoy work more, or get into the groove of a vacation mode. Enjoy!


Wave Hands in the Clouds

Stand in bow stance with feet more than hip wide apart. Take the left hand and place it under the right elbow as you shift weight to the right foot extending the right hand palm up. Then go under the right elbow and move your left hand under the wrist and over the fingers of the right hand. Your tongue is at the roof of your mouth under your front teeth. Breathe in as your hand goes over the other hand. Then bring both hand toward the center of your body and begin to shft your weight toward the left side, extending your left hand first and bringing your right hand under back of the wrist of the left hand. The breath is the same as before breathing in as your right hand goes over the fingers of the left hand.

This exercise relaxes the breath and allows the chi (energy) to come to the hands, palms, fingers, and elbows. The Chinese believe that health begins with the flow of energy and disease begins when energy is stagnent.
